Fasken Martineau has deep experience and expertise advising and representing Canadian and American businesses in relation to mergers, criminal matters including cartels, and other restrictive trade practices in Canada.

We have handled merger transactions in a wide range of industries, and regularly assist clients in clearing such transactions through the Canadian Competition Bureau. We have substantial experience in advising and representing clients in connection with criminal and civil investigations and court and Competition Tribunal proceedings under the Competition Act, including private civil actions such as class actions. We also provide advice and representation to clients in designing, negotiating and implementing transactions, commercial relationships, advertising and marketing programs and competition law compliance programs, and in responding to actions and initiatives of third parties whose interests are adverse to those of our clients.
